WAVE - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Ironman St George Volunteers Needed!
Come Help your friends and club members accomplish one of the most difficult races. To see someone from Your own club from another city makes a huge difference in a race of this length.
Please sign up for the Run Aid Station captained by Ben Ford (run aid station #1). Our friends need our help. It's only a 7 hour drive to St George. Please let Don Campbell know if you will be volunteering so we can all connect before the race for dinner or breakfast the next morning. Thanks, and see you on the line helping!!
Info from Ben Ford:
First order of business is recruiting more volunteers. If you have friends and family that are interested, have them sign up online at www.ironmanstgeorge.com, click on volunteer, and follow the instructions. The registration is easy and I can help you with any problems. Remember to put my name and the area you wish to volunteer in the comment box at the end of the registration page. The name of our site is Run Aid Station #1. Also, if any of you and others that you plan to sign up are under 18 years old, please have them fill out the waiver form, and send it to me. I will have that waiver file attached to this email. Registering and waivers are very important. It offers you insurance coverage in case of an accident.
If you were unaware of our aid station's actual location, we are located on Main street near the round-about, next to the Pizza Factory. We are about a half mile from the finish line. This is an exciting location to be at since we are so close to the start and finish. Food will be provided for the volunteers, and we may have some small food assignments. We are trying to have a theme for our aid station, dress, attire, and music. If you have any ideas, please pass them along to me. I have been playing with the idea of 70's dress up, or grass skirts and coconut tops, or the Elvis volunteers, and karaoke with our music. Please feel free to add any input!
