Training/Racing For Triathlon Specific Distances - An Interactive Breakout Workshop!
Should age group Triathletes plan and train for races differently depending on the the distance? What are your goals for this and next year? Faster Sprint? Olympic finish under 3 hours? First Half or Full Ironman? Come to our June meeting for breakout sessions that will specifically tackle the details that will get you to your race goals! Our very own club members will lead discussions as follows:

Topic: Importance of proper shoe fit...
Katie Ellis is undoubtedly THE premier triathlete in our state and possibly in the whole country, and she is only 23 years old! She competed in her first triathlon in 1995 at IronKids. Believe it or not, It actually wasn't such a good experience. In high school she competed in swim, cross-country, and track which led her back to triathlon. She has now competed in Ironman AZ in '05 and '06, then Hawaii later in '06.
In 2007 she thrived in the shorter races such as Collegiate Nationals, Age Group Nationals, ITU Worlds, Best of the US, and SOMA. As for this year, she will be racing as an elite and sticking to Olympic and Half Ironman distances, with her eyes sent on returning to Kona in a few years.
